Hybrid Cars – Is The Future Bright?

August 31st, 2011

With natural resources depleting at an alarming rate, consumption of fuel and preserving the environment become the main concerns of today. Hybrid cars are growing in popularity due to the fact that they conserve fuel and emit lower toxic fuels. This brings benefit for the user as well as the environment and is a on its way to becoming the option of the future. Most people choose to give up their conventional cars and opt for either new or hybrid used cars in Maine to have a more environment and budget friendly vehicle.

Hybrid cars come with two fuel engines to effectively help with consumption. The car has a traditional gasoline engine as well as one with an electric motor and batteries. The engines work together to cut consumption of fuel by almost half of that of conventional cars. This massive saving definitely proves to be one of the primary reasons why Hybrid cars are undoubtedly the cars of the future. Another important element of Hybrid cars is that they are not affected by the fluctuations in fuel prices. The government of United States understands the benefits these cars pose to the environment and has levied certain rules to provide them with advantages such as free parking, free entry in car pool lanes and tax benefits. Owners of used cars can now enjoy lower taxes.

The Automotive Industry And 2008 – What Will The Future Hold?

January 6th, 2011

Rising fuel prices, unstable financial markets and taxation changes with the apparent aim of getting us to use our cars less often (or at least pay more to use them) have been just some of the issues that have affected the automotive industry in the past 12 months. This article looks at what 2008 may hold for the automotive industry and road users in general.

The US economy and the resulting weakness of the dollar looks like it may well contribute to the price of crude oil continuing to rise as investors have been holding the commodity instead of dollars. This means that as the cost of a barrel of crude oil comes close to the 0 figure then so fuel prices have also continued to rise.

So do higher fuel costs mean we are likely to buy or use cars, vans and Lorries less in 2008? Well seemingly not based on a latest poll of motorists. Despite fuel prices increasing at alarming rates a whopping 79 percent of motorists questioned said they had not changed their petrol and fuel buying habits and had no plans to do so. In fact the motorists questioned said petrol prices would have to increase at even more alarming rates to stop them from filling up.

Environmental issues would it seem not be as important as governments throughout the world as over 1 in 3 motorists confirmed they had no plans to replace their vehicles for more environmentally friendly cars before 2010.

Individuals seem to change their lifestyle options as they mature. For example, an individual tries to maintain a sedentary lifestyle when his or her body begins to show a sign of breaking down. We set aside monetary funds for our medical bills instead of saving for a vacation. In this type of situation, it is very surprising that we do not put the same effort into concern for our vehicles.

It is important to keep in mind that your vehicle depreciates in value the instant you drive it off the car lot. The blue book value is known to decrease to nothing at a certain point in its short lifespan and because of this selling your car down the road is known as receiving a profit. The question that we should always ask ourselves is, “Do we really want to put monetary funds out to insure a vehicle which you would not even consider to fix if it were in a bad accident?” Putting out thousands of dollars on repair bills on an older model vehicle is not at all what you would call a feasible. You may want to consider what the rates would be to dispose of your old car so that you could put those funds toward that of a new vehicle of your choice. If this is the case, you would not want to get your car insurance to cover the repairs of a wrecked vehicle. This would be a waste.
